I can't believe my bloggy is a year old and I have over 2 thousand hits!!! I can't believe I have been at Highland Jewel 2 years already. I can't believe Shirley has been there a full year and we haven't killed her yet. Things are so bad. Once again I would like to issue a statement I made in the past. STAY AWAY FROM THE HIGHLAND JEWEL PEOPLE!!!! There's really no point in you showing up. You'll just buy stuff and then have to stand in line for 30 minutes while nobody does anything....nope, no point.
Speaking of Jewel, the past 2 days have been interesting. Yesterday was the perfect example of bad management. We finally had 3 lanes open, a big improvement for us in general, and 2 managers on the floor. We were insanely busy still and Shirley was just a complete bitch. I took my break and as I was coming down the stairs I heard my name being called and I came down and she just started screaming at me 15 MINUTE BREAKS!!!! 15 MINUTES!!!!! We had really rude customers as well yesterday. You people are crazy!!! Whatever your problems are, it's not my fault, so don't get mad at me. If you are asked for your ID and phone number, shut up and do it!!! Some people rarely have to and some people always have to, bite me!!! Anyway, at one point I believe we even had 4 cashiers, oooo :) Shirley was doing nothing but standing there with her hands on her hips waiting to give someone something to do even though we were all busy enough. She was useless!!! Nancy wasn't in the best mood either because I had a very cranky customer. He was asked for his ID for the check he wanted to write and also asked to put his phone number on the pinpad. He didn't want his phone number on the pinpad so he complained. "i gave my id i gave my jewel card, whah whah whah." I called Nancy over, he was mean to her so she got real shitty and didn't want to help me at all with the problem and told me to call Shirley. Shirley wasn't happy about it either and we kept going round and round until finally she bothered to look at the check, something I should have noticed, and saw that his phone number was printed on his check. Ha ha ha asshole! She typed it in and everything was fine. Maybe he won't come back. One less bell to answer.
Even the cats were nuts yesterday. Oliver ran from the backyard to the front yard, found a big cricket, and ate it on the driveway. Cali was actually being the good one!!!
Today wasn't that bad at Jewel. I opened. When I woke up I wasn't very happy. Awake, but not that happy. Got there on time. Kris was there and had everything set up for me. Very nice. She was on top of things. I had a bagger at 6am!!! I was so fucking happy!!! I didn't have to open the doors! 6-6:30 was the 3 of us bitching about Shirley and all the shit she pulled yesterday and then around 6:55, something very interesting happenned. A woman came in my line with some pop and an entire cart full of newspapers. The Hammond Times. There was some big game today or something for lotto and she needed every paper so she could play. WTF!!! There were 85 newspapers in there. Kris was trying to argue that she really can't let her take all those papers and the lady argued that if it were 75 bottles of pop, she would have to be allowed to take it and it's other peoples luck if there are none for them. Well we would have been able to restock 75 bottles of pop, but we ended up giving her all 85 papers. Her bill was about $150. I hope she wins nothing. Why not just go to IL and play lotto? Idiot. That lady is definately goin to hell or something.
Ok that is my bitching for the day. I open again tomorrow, but no school thankfully. Off to do dishes I go. Happy Holidays ppl!
