RAPE

This morning I worked at Jewel in Highland, IN where I have been working for the past 2 years. I have been opening on Sundays at 6am for most of that time period. This morning there were 2 guys who let me in the building, which is semi unusual. One guy introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Scott with security. If you need anything, call me." I must have given him the most horrible look cuz what was going through my head was "get out of the way, I have things to do" lol.
Well I discovered through the grapevine why Scott with security was joining us. It turns out that one of the nicest girls in our store was raped. She worked as a facer stocking the shelves. She was attacked last Saturday evening in the employee breakroom. She was in the woman's bathroom and a new dude from Osco came in and raped her.

Now, I feel really bad for this girl, however, I must express my discontent that I had to hear this through the grapevine and when this person told me the story, she told me to keep it hush. I think there should be a notice mailed to all employees. Maybe there was and I didn't pick up my paycheck again hehe. This is just ridiculous.
At any rate, everyone use the buddy system and be mindful of what you are doing. I made this entry purple because the purple ribbon campaign is about rape awareness. There is also RAINN if anyone cares to look into that. I hope this poor girl gets better. I hope people talk about this.
